UPHS MAINTAINS RECORDS TO IDENTIFY AND MONITOR LEVELS OF CHARITY CARE PROVIDED, INCLUDING THE AMOUNT OF PAYMENT FORGONE, BASED ON ESTABLISHED RATES, FOR SERVICES AND SUPPLIES FURNISHED UNDER ITS CHARITY CARE POLICY. UPHS ALSO PROVIDES CARE TO PATIENTS WHO DO NOT HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE OR MEET THE CRITERIA TO QUALIFY FOR ITS CHARITY CARE POLICY, AND CERTAIN AMOUNTS CHARGED FOR SUCH SERVICES ARE DEEMED TO BE UNCOLLECTIBLE. AS OF JUNE 30, 2022, CCA AND ITS NEW JERSEY AFFILIATE, CLINICAL HEALTH CARE ASSOCIATES OF NEW JERSEY, P.C., EMPLOYED OR CONTRACTED WITH 298 PHYSICIANS AND 121 PHYSICIAN EXTENDERS AT 97 OFFICE LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE FIVE COUNTY SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA AREA AND THREE COUNTY SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY AREA. CCA HAS GROWN TO BE A PRIMARY AND SPECIALTY CARE NETWORK WITH APPROXIMATELY 39% OF CCA PHYSICIANS PROVIDING PRIMARY CARE, 14% PROVIDING OBGYN CARE, AND 48% A VARIETY OF SPECIALTY SERVICES. CCA PHYSICIANS SERVE AS TEACHERS FOR STUDENTS AND RESIDENTS OF THE PERELMAN SCHOOL OF MEDICINE, AND THE HEALTH SYSTEM HAS REALIZED, AND CONTINUES TO REALIZE, INCREASED ACCESS TO PATIENTS FOR TEACHING AND RESEARCH PURPOSES AS A RESULT OF CCA'S DEVELOPMENT. HUP, CPUP, PRESBYTERIAN, PENNSYLVANIA, PRINCETON, AND CHESTER COUNTY HOSPITALS ALSO EXPECT TO ATTRACT INCREMENTAL ADMISSIONS AND OUTPATIENT VISITS BECAUSE OF THE UNIQUE AND SPECIALIZED SERVICES THEY CAN PROVIDE TO CCA PATIENTS. PENN MEDICINE CARES GRANT: IN COLLABORATION WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA HEALTH SYSTEM, CCA AWARDS PENN MEDICINE CARES GRANTS TO COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMS ON BEHALF OF EMPLOYEES WHO VOLUNTEER THEIR TIME AND EFFORT AT THE INITIATIVES.
