Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 1	Due to the continued impacts of COVID-19, in order to make the annual business meeting and poster session available to all, those sessions were held virtually, through Zoom, on Thursday, June 16, 2022. For the in person scientific session, 100 attended 81 physicians and 19 non-physicians and obtained up to 6.25 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits of continuing medical education through joint providership with the APA. The event provided an opportunity for both physicians and psychiatric residents or medical students to poster present virtually uploaded videos to YouTube and be juried by the meeting attendees virtual QA session held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 prior to the annual business meeting. There were seven posters presented as part of the Annual Meeting.
Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 2	In 2022, key legislative issues included the resolution and completion of the work on the development of the rules the rulemaking process to enforce mental health parity compliance and reporting under Jakes Law, with CALF Grant funding from the American Psychiatric Association to support additional lobbying, health care advocacy coalition membership, and preparations and navigation of the process for rulemaking through the Department of Financial Institutions and Insurance and the Governors Rules and Regulatory Commission in support of the same. The Arizona Psychiatric Society was a leadership level coalition member in the Arizona Healthcare Advocacy Coalition, which includes a dozen health care member associations, led by the Arizona Medical Association, the Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association, and other key physician associations.
Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 3	The Society organized and participated in multiple stakeholder meetings and meetings around educating legislators key to the possible advancement of the legislation on issues regarding patient safety and prescribing were ongoing and key to preventing the legislation dropping in 2022. Priority legislation advancing in the Spring of 2022 included the signing of HB2429 Physicians Wellness Programs Confidentiality, originally sponsored by Representative Amish Shah, MD, and mandates the confidentiality of physicians and nurses participation in employee wellness programs in hope of destigmatizing mental health services. This legislation was partner to the efforts of the Society that were successful at the Arizona Medical Board, together with the support of the Arizona Medical Association and over twenty other physician organizations, in bringing about change to the confidential questions around physician licensure and destigmatizing mental health care and the seeking of early care by physicians through those changes, which changes were adopted and put into effect in 2022.
Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 4	In addition to the Annual Meeting, as member events, the Arizona Psychiatric Society offered virtual risk management events and a virtual update on 988 and crisis response, as follows On March 17, 2022, the Society hosted a virtual risk management education event, Ten Things About ... in collaboration with Professional Risk Management Services, Inc. PRMS. This continuing medical education event topics included, documentation, EHR documentation, forensic practice, non adherent patients, prescription monitoring programs, termination of the treatment relationship, and key things to know about starting a private practice. PRMS provided the CME educational credit to those members and non members who attended.
Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 5	On November 1, 2022, the Society hosted a continuing medical education virtual event around 988 and How to Access the Arizona Crisis System accredited through joint providership with the APA. The education was a collaboration with agencies contributing to crisis response in Arizona for a general overview of 988 and Arizona crisis care, the statewide crisis line, 911 integration, mobile team dispatch, crisis services by region, local details regarding mobile teams, crisis facilities, second responders, and law enforcement.
Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 6	The Society made membership outreach/informational visits to each residency program in-person in August of 2022 to the Creighton SOM, and to the UACOM Tucson program, and in November of 2022 to UACOM Phoenix to present on benefits of membership, grassroots advocacy, and to provide practical advice on how to begin a private practice or other concerns around beginning a career in psychiatry. The Society had each program join as a group meeting the 100 Club status for APA membership from all three residency programs in Arizona for the second year in a row.
Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 7	Throughout the year, the Society worked to communicate with its members through its quarterly Newsletter, distributed only electronically, and also through periodic electronic e-mail alerts.
