Explanation:
Our fiscal agent AFSCME Council 5 in St. Paul undertook a major reporting and accounting overhaul that was not well trained all the local treasurers. They no longer did paper invoices, and they took their dues entitlements off the top, rather than invoicing for repayment. It was a major adjustment to a volunteer treasurer. It became harder to determine costs by category, etc. I think in all that I missed that filing was mandatory electronic. I could swear I read that there was leniency until later. Also, I thought there was Covid grace. And, our organization is not 3 years delinquent. I only received my letter of rejection on Monday August 14, 2023. IRS letters were slow arriving, saying they were still examining my status and THEY needed more time. I really do not want a cumulative penalty for their slow action, and they don't give much time between their 10 days of their letter date and their new deadline. Thank heavens for e-filing. I added a new filing date. The central data has not changed, revised or been correcting due to error.
