The Onion Foundation's Discovery grants are intended for small scale projects in the arts or environment that align with the mission and priorities of the Foundation that may lead to a discovery - a new learning or innovative approach. These grants offer a chance to try something new (not a variant on existing work), which could include pilot programs or professional or organizational development such as strategic planning or equity, inclusion, diversity and justice work. Discovery Grant asks can range from $1,000 to $5,000. Discovery Grants are one-time investments and are not designed to be repeated for the same project in future years.
