	To manage the Special Fund available to firefighters/association members and distribute retirement and disability benefits from the Special Fund to association members per state requirements. There were 46 active firefighters and 6 retired not receiving benefits in 2022, and 3 retirees received benefits in 2022. In addition, they provide valuable instructions on potential avoidable issues with regards to fire hazards.

Part X, Line 2:	The Association is a tax-exempt organization under Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(4). The Association is subject to tax on income from any unrelated business. The Association is subject to the recognition requirements for uncertain income tax positions as required by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Accounting Standards Codification 740-10 (formerly known as FASB Interpretation No. 48, Accounting for Uncertainty in Income Taxes). Income tax benefits are recognized for income tax positions taken or expected to be taken in a tax return, only when it is determined that the income tax position will more-likely-than-not be sustained upon examination by taxing authorities. The Association has analyzed tax positions taken for filing with the Internal Revenue Service and state jurisdiction where it operates. The Association is a tax-exempt organization under Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(4). The Association is subject to tax on income from any unrelated business. The Association is subject to the recognition requirements for uncertain income tax positions as required by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Accounting Standards Codification 740-10 (formerly known as FASB Interpretation No. 48, Accounting for Uncertainty in Income Taxes). Income tax benefits are recognized for income tax positions taken or expected to be taken in a tax return, only when it is determined that the income tax position will more-likely-than-not be sustained upon examination by taxing authorities. The Association has analyzed tax positions taken for filing with the Internal Revenue Service and state jurisdiction where it operates.
