Explanation:

Return was misfiled through USPS instead of electronically filing. Filing was mailed and received April 4,2022 in Ogden, UT, but returned due to not being filed electronically. Our organization has always filed a paper copy, therefore we were unaware of the electronic filing requirement. When we attempted to e-file, the filing was rejected for our organization incorrectly not being listed in the IRS master file of organizations, which took us much additional back-and-forth correspondence with the IRS to get corrected. We respectfully request the waiver of any late filing penalties that might apply in this case.
