What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The purpose of this organization is to educate, support, and foster the skills of beekeepers using current best management practices, to share experience and methods on improving honey production for back yard beekeepers and businesses, and provide the members of the association an opportunity to purchase honey bees and queens. The association will also inform and educate the public on the importance of honey bees for pollination, food, and safe pesticide usage via community outreach and other events.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 We educated and trained 75 new beekeepers. We held 10 meetings with speakers on current topics for beekeepers in our region. We partnered with the State Beekeeping organization to host the Honey Bee booth at the SC State Fair to educate the general public about Honey Bees. We held hands on beekeeper training at a local bee yard 4 times throughout the year. We provided bees to club members.
