DURING 2023 WE WERE ABLE TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY WITH 141,360. THESE DONATIONS TO ST. GIANNA CRISIS PREGNANCY CENTER, GOOD SAMARITAN'S, FAMILY ENRICHMENT CENTER, MEALS, THE NETWORK (WARREN CO. FOSTER ADOPTIVE ASSOCIATION), GASPER RIVER CATHOLIC RETREAT CENTER, HOTEL INC., AND BOTH THE LOCAL PARISHES' FOOD PANTRIES. WE CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THE ST. JOSEPH SVDP FOOD PANTRY AND THE HOLY SPIRIT SVD FOOD PANTRY WHO ALSO HELP WITH UTILITY BILLS AND EMERGENCIES. THE ST. JOSEPH CONFERNECE OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL FOOD PANTRY REPORTS: DISTRIBUTED OVER 2,962 CARTS OF FOOD TO OUR CLIENTS. THE ESTIMATED VALUE OF THE DISTRIBUTED FOOD WAS OVER 147,800. THE TOTAL WEIGHT OF THE FOOD DISTRIBUTED IN 2023 WAS ABOUT 151,000 LBS. PROVIDED UTILITY ASSISTANCE TO 127 FAMILIES. OUR 32 VOLUNTEERS CONTRIBUTED 5,790 PERSON-HOURS OF THEIR TIME TO WORK. ONE-FOURTH OF THE PERSON-HOURS WERE CONTRIBUTED WHEN THE FOOD PANTRY IS OPEN. THE OTHER 75% WAS CONTRIBUTED WHILE ACQUIRING BREAD, FOOD, SOAP, ETC., FOR THE FOOD PANTRY. OUR VOLUNTEERS TRAVELED OVER 27,800 MILES (UNREIMBURSED) TO PROVIDE SERVICES. WE CONTINUE TO SUPPORT OTHER COMMUNITY EFFORTS AND PROJECTS. OUR GOAL IS TO GROW OUR OUTREACH, COLLABORATE WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS, AND BE ABLE TO BETTER SERVE THOSE WHO NEED US THE MOST, INCLUDING THE LOW-INCOME AND THE ELDERLY. WE HAVE FOCUSED ON OUR MOVE TO OUR NEW LOCATION DURING 2023. WITH COMING OUT OF COVID, THE BIG MOVE, LOSING OUR EXECTUVIE DIRECTOR, AND KEEPING TALENTED EMPLOYEES, WE HAVE HAD MANY CHALLENGES. DURING 2024, WE PLAN TO WORK MORE WITH OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS AND WHAT THEY ARE DOING IN OUR COMMUNITY THAT SUPPORTS OUR MISSION. DURING 2023, WE HAD 25,885 IN-KIND DONATIONS, WHICH CONTINUES TO INCREASE, AND WITH OUR NEW LOCATION, THIS HAS BEEN A BLESSING. IN MONETARY DONATIONS, WE HAD 5,446 BASED ON THE P & L, WHICH HAS ALSO INCREASED OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS. WE FIND THAT DURING DIFFICULT TIMES, OUR COMMUNITY'S HEARTS ARE SOFTENED FOR THOSE IN NEED.
