	Buckeye Girls State is a one-week mock Ohio government program for girls who have completed their junior year of high school. The program, held each summer on a college campus in Ohio, teaches the participants about the privileges, rights and responsibilities of good citizenship.

	The Departments activities are based on its obligation to assist veterans. The Auxiliary supports the initiation, sponsorship and develpmnent of programs and services that enhance the lives of veterans, active members of the military and their families.

	Buckeye Messenger is a quarterly newsletter that is produced by the Department of Ohio and sent to all Units and their members to keep them updated as to events and happenings at the Department. Monitoring procedures (Part I, line 2)	Scholarships are awarded to those who want to prepare for careers in nursing or other professional fields. Scholarship candidates must complete an application and be interviewed by Department committee members. Once an award is accepted, scholarship recipients are asked to maintain contact and inform the Department of Ohio of their progress.

Members or stockholder classes and rights Part VI line 6	All members of the American Legion Auxiliary belong to an individual chapter, known as a Unit. Any member in good standing with the Unit and the Department of Ohio has full rights and privileges to vote.
Member election for additional members Part VI line 7a	Members run for statewide office annually and are voted upon by delegates attending the Auxiliarys Department Convention. Once a member is voted as the 2nd Vice President, the member begins a 3-year term as an officer, concluding with a 1-year term as President.
Governing body decisions Part VI line 7b	Most policy decisions are voted upon by the Department Executive Committee after being approved by the various Department Committees. Each summer at the Department of Ohio Convention, significant policy matters are voted upon by all delegates in attendance.
Governing body meeting documentation Part VI line 8a	All minutes of the Department Executive Committee are transcribed by the Department Secretary-Treasurer, and printed for DEC members to review and approve at the subsequent meeting.

There are nearly 400 units in the State of Ohio, all of which follow the same policies and procedures as the Department of Ohio, and follow the same guidance as the Auxiliary National office. The Department and all Auxiliary Units are part of the Auxiliary National offices group exemption.
Form 990 governing body review Part VI line 11	The 990 is reviewed by the Department Finance Committee. Any questions are answered by the CPA who prepared the 990 on behalf of the organization.
Conflict of interest policy compliance Part VI line 12c	Members of the Department Executive Committee as well as employees must sign conflict-of-interest policy statements annually. In addition, any DEC member is required to disclose conflicts of interest once a conflict becomes apparent.
CEO executive director top management comp Part VI line 15a	The Secretary-Treasurers salary is reviewed annually by Finance Committee and approved by the Department Executive Committee.
