Explanation:

For the 6/30/2023 990, our entity was not aware of the e-filing requirement. This 990 was the first year the return was prepared internally, and not by a paid preparer, so the director completed the return then mailed it prior to the May 15, 2024 due date. Ranson received the IRS notice 0422810843 dated 07/11/2024 on 07/22/2024 stating the original submission was rejected for e-filing non-compliance, and immediately reprepared the forms for e-filing. In addition, the Ranson staff member familiar with IRS e-filing processes passed away unexpectedly on May 4, 2024. She was the payroll administrator, with extensive IRS filing knowledge, so that vacancy created a procedural deficiency. All future year returns will be filed electronically, and we apologize for the inconvenience in failing to follow e-file requirements.
