(1) We provide awards in both check and trophies for our award winners that are part of the VFW National Programs, such as Patriots Pen, Voice of Democracy, Teacher of the Year, Fire Fighter of the Year, Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. Schedule I, Part I, Line 2	When we provide assistance to someone, we make sure that the funds are paid directly to the supplier and we monitor how the donations are provided to the veteran or their family. All Grants that we received are put into our relief fund, this fund is used to help veterans and their families, this might include a donation that we provide to a Veteran / Members spouse when they pass away, instead of flowers for this event we provide a donation to the family for them to use as they see fit.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7a	The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9143 has annual elections during the Months of March and April, Nominations are opened in the month of March for the Post Commander, Senior Vice Commander, Junior Vice Commander, Quartermaster / CFO, 3 year Trustee, and 3 year House Committee person, all other positions are appointed by the incoming Post Commander.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7b	Any changes to our bylaws, or any new business that is over $ 250.00, the membership has to approve those items during a regular business meeting. Should an emergency occur a special meeting is held and members in attendance will vote on the special item.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b	A copy of the completed and IRS Approved form 990 is posted in the Officer's, Officer and is available for inspection upon request.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15	The officers that receive compensation for their services were reviewed by the House Committee and then put into the Post Bylaws, which were they sent via email to all members to review, then they were voted on for approval during one of the post monthly meetings.
Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19	As a Veterans Organization we enforce the Post, District, Department and National Bylaws and policies. Our Bylaws at the post level must be approved by our District, Department and National Management team, once they are approved they are implemented at the Post Level.
