WE PROVIDE THESE HEROES WITH LIFE-CHANGING OPPORTUNITIES THAT UNLOCK THE POTENTIAL IN THEIR PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL LIVES THROUGH FOOD, WELLNESS, COMMUNITY, AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT. PROGRAM 1. WELLNESS PROGRAMS OUR WELLNESS PROGRAMS SUPPORT THE MENTAL AND PHYSICAL WELL-BEING OF AMERICA'S INJURED, WOUNDED, ILL, AND/OR AGING HEROES AND THEIR FAMILIES. WE HELP HEAL THE VISIBLE AND INVISIBLE WOUNDS THEY INCURRED WHILE SERVING OUR COUNTRY, AND EMPOWER THEM TO BREAK THROUGH BOUNDARIES AND FULFILL THEIR POTENTIAL. WE PROVIDED 9 IBOTS TO WOUNDED HEROES AND 4 MOBILITY DEVICES TO INJURED VETERANS TO RESTORE MOBILITY AND INDEPENDENCE. THESE DEVICES EMPOWER OUR HEROES TO NAVIGATE THE CHALLENGES OF DAILY LIFE WITH DIGNITY AND HELP IMPROVE THEIR OVERALL MENTAL WELL-BEING. WE PROVIDED 3 TRAINED SERVICE DOGS TO VETERANS OVERCOMING TRAUMA. THESE LOYAL COMPANIONS PROVIDE COMFORT DURING TIMES OF DISTRESS AND MITIGATE SYMPTOMS OF PTSD AND ANXIETY. WE RECONNECTED 2,200 VETERAN, MILITARY FAMILIES, AND GOLD STAR FAMILIES THROUGH REUNITING THE BRAVE. THESE GATHERINGS PROVIDE A SAFE SPACE FOR VETERANS FROM THE SAME UNIT TO SHARE THEIR STORIES, PROCESS TRAUMA, GRIEVE TOGETHER, AND FIND SOLIDARITY AMONG PEERS WHO UNDERSTAND THEIR STRUGGLES FIRSTHAND. THROUGH THE MEDEVAC PODCAST, WE INTERVIEWED 44 VETERANS, SERVICE MEMBERS, AND CIVILIANS. EACH PERSON WAS INVITED TO SHARE THEIR UNIQUE EXPERIENCES OF SERVICE, INJURY, RECOVERY, RESILIENCY, SUCCESS, AND FAILURE, HELPING TO REDUCE THE FEELINGS OF ISOLATION AND THE STIGMA ASSOCIATED WITH MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES. PROGRAM 2. FOOD PROGRAMS OUR FOOD PROGRAMS ARE PERSONALLY CURATED BY OUR FOUNDER, ROBERT IRVINE'S CAREER AS A VETERAN, CELEBRITY CHEF, AND LONG-TIME SUPPORTER OF OUR MILITARY AND FIRST RESPONDER COMMUNITIES. WHEN ROBERT STARTED HIS CAREER AS A COOK IN THE NAVY, HE KNEW HE HAD FOUND HIS CALLING. HE WITNESSED THE POWER OF FOOD AND ITS ABILITY TO BRING PEOPLE TOGETHER, NOURISHING THEIR BODIES, MIND, AND SPIRIT. THROUGH THE FOUNDATION'S BREAKING BREAD WITH HEROES PROGRAM, WE SERVED 40,320+ DELICIOUS MEALS TO SERVICE MEMBERS, VETERANS, FIRST RESPONDERS, AND THEIR FAMILIES. IN 2023, 1 IN 5 MILITARY FAMILIES EXPERIENCED FOOD INSECURITY. 200+ MILITARY FAMILIES RECEIVED SUPPORT FOR THEIR THANKSGIVING MEAL TO HELP DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON AND WE DISTRIBUTED 1 GRANT TO HELP COMBAT THE ONGOING CRISIS. PROGRAM 3. COMMUNITY PROGRAMS OUR COMMUNITY PROGRAMS BUILD PEER SUPPORT NETWORKS FOR OUR HEROES AND THEIR FAMILIES TO UPLIFT ONE ANOTHER. NEW FRIENDSHIPS AND LASTING MEMORIES ARE MADE THROUGH BONDING EXPERIENCES AND RESILIENCY-BUILDING EVENTS. OVER 17,860 HEROES AND THEIR FAMILIES ATTENDED RESILIENCY EXPERIENCES WHERE WE OFFER OPPORTUNITIES FOR HEALING, CONNECTION, AND PERSONAL GROWTH. OUR HEROES MAY ARRIVE FEELING ALONE, BUT THEY WALK AWAY WITH A RENEWED SENSE OF FAMILY. WHEN ROBERT IRVINE VISITS MILITARY BASES, HE BRINGS A SENSE OF HOME. BEYOND CREATING MEMORABLE EXPERIENCES AND SPARKING JOY, ROBERT ALWAYS MAKES TIME FOR IMPORTANT DIALOGUES ABOUT WHAT IT MEANS TO SERVE, SHARING HIS INSIGHTS ON FOOD, NUTRITION, AND FITNESS WHICH IN TURN INSPIRES SERVICE MEMBERS TO PERSEVERE THROUGH CHALLENGES. WE VISITED OVER 32,730 SERVICE MEMBERS AND MILITARY FAMILIES AT 17 DIFFERENT MILITARY BASES. THE FOUNDATION IS RAISING AWARENESS OF THE EVER-CHANGING NEEDS OF OUR NATION'S HEROES. 334,156+ HEROES AND CIVILIANS ATTENDED COMMUNITY EDUCATION EVENTS THAT INFORMED AND INSPIRED COMMUNITIES ALL ACROSS THE COUNTRY. 6 AMBASSADORS CURATE AN OUTSTANDING TEAM OF VETERANS, MILITARY FAMILIES, AND CAREGIVERS TO RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT OUR MISSION. AS FOUNDATION REPRESENTATIVES, THEY PROVIDE PROGRAM UPDATES AND SHARE THEIR STORIES AT SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS AND EVENTS. PROGRAM 4. FINANCIAL SUPPORT THE SACRIFICES MADE BY MILITARY PERSONNEL AND FIRST RESPONDERS EXTEND BEYOND THEIR OWN LIVES, THEY IMPACT THEIR FAMILIES PROFOUNDLY. BY PROVIDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO THESE COMMUNITIES, WE ALLEVIATE STRESSORS, BOLSTER RESILIENCE, AND ULTIMATELY ENHANCE THE MENTAL WELL-BEING OF THE INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES RECEIVING HELP. WE DISTRIBUTED 19 COMMUNITY GRANTS TO SUPPORT LOCAL INITIATIVES THAT ENABLE COLLABORATION, RESOURCE-SHARING, AND MUTUAL SUPPORT AMONG SERVICE MEMBERS, VETERANS, FIRST RESPONDERS, AND THEIR FAMILIES. 200 GOLD STAR FAMILY MEMBERS WERE IMPACTED BY HOLIDAY GRANTS. BY ALLEVIATING FINANCIAL BURDEN, THIS ASSISTANT ALLOWS FAMILIES TO FOCUS ON HEALING, HONORING THE MEMORY OF THEIR LOVED ONES, AND CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAY SEASON. WHEN THE UNEXPECTED HAPPENS, LIKE EMERGENCIES, NATURAL DISASTERS, HEALTH CRISES - WE'RE PROVIDING SUPPORT TO OUR HEROES AND THEIR FAMILIES.
