1 THE ACADEMY IS A PRIVATE SCHOOL FOCUSED ON BREAKING THE CYCLE OF POVERTY THROUGH A MULTIGENERATIONAL APPROACH OF SUPPORTING THE WHOLE FAMILY, IN ADDITION TO PROVIDING A QUALITY EDUCATION TO THE CHILDREN. THE FIRST COHORT AND THE GRADUATING CLASS OF 2031 STARTED IN AUGUST OF 2018. WE BELIEVE THE ACADEMY IS UNIQUE BECAUSE OF ITS FOCUS ON THE FAMILY AND THE RESOURCES PROVIDED TO HELP OVERCOME THE BARRIERS AND BREAK THE CYCLE OF GENERATIONAL POVERTY. THE SCHOOL MODELS A TRADITIONAL ACADEMIC CURRICULUM FOR THE STUDENTS AND SUPPORTS THE FAMILY THROUGH LIFE SKILLS CLASSES ASSESSMENTS, TRAINING, VOCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES AND JOB AND HOUSING RESOURCES. THE FAMILIES OF THE ACADEMY WILL HAVE RESOURCES MADE AVAILABLE THROUGH MANY COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS. 2 THE MCLEOD FAMILY FOUNDATION OPENED OPERATES A NONPROFIT CHILDCARE CENTER IN ROANOKE, VIRGINIA. WE PROVIDE YOUNG CHILDREN WITH A QUALITY EARLY CHILDHOOD EDCUATION WHILE OFFERING FAMILIES THE SECURITY OF KNOWING THEY ARE RECEIVING EXEPTIONAL CARE. HONEYTREE, LLC SERVES CHILDREN BETWEEN THE AGES OF 6 WEEKS AND 12 YEARS OLD. THE CENTERS PROVIDE CONVENIENT DAILY HOURS FOR WORKING PARENTS. WE TAKE THE SAFETY OF OUR STUDENTS VERY SERIOUSLY. OUR CENTERS FEATURE CODED FRONT DOORS, FINGERPRINT CHECK-IN, CERTIFIED CPR/FIRST AID TEACHERS AND CONTINUOUS EDUCATION IN SAFETY TRAINING.
