What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The Rhode Island Coalition Against Gun Violence (RICAGV) is a coalition of organizations and activists who confront gun violence as an urgent public health issue. The RICAGV utilizes the collective power of its membership and grassroots organizing methods to advance programs and policies that will reduce gun violence, resulting in safer, healthier Rhode Island communities.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 In 2023 under the leadership of a new Executive Director, RICAGV continued to work on a strategic plan in support of common sense gun violence prevention efforts, including safe storage and assault weapons ban legislation. Coalition partnerships that were nurtured and strengthened in support of these goals include the Giffords Law Center, Everytown for Gun Safety, Newtown Action Alliance, States United to Prevent Gun Violence, Nonviolence Institute, RI Kids Count, , and Mentor RI
