What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? VFW Post 3617 provided free veterans and active duty assistance with VA claims and services, emergency financial assistance, patriotic education and character development to primary thru secondary schools , philanthropy and support of our community organizations.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 VFW Post 3617 provided free veteran and active military assistance with VA claims & services, emergency financial assistance, patriotism and character development to primary and secondary school students, continuing education scholarships to high school and Junior College students, honor guard details to veteran funeral services, flag color guard details to civic functions, and US flag donations to private individuals, public facilities and commercial businesses. Additionally, VFW Post 3617 is responsible for maintaining the Veteran's Memorial in Douglas County, WA.
