1 HOUSING - WELD COLLABORATES WITH HOMEOWNERS AND DEVELOPMENT COMPANIES IN THE GREATER SEATTLE AREA TO UTILIZE AND CARE FOR PROPERTIES THAT ARE NOT OCCUPIED TO HOUSE WELD MEMBERS. WELD MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO PAY A SMALL MEMBERSHIP FEE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM AND WELD FULL TIME STAFF MONITORS THE HOUSES AND MEMBERS TO ENSURE SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE. THIS PROGRAM GREATLY SERVES OUR MEMBERS AND COMMUNITY BY HOUSING INDIVIDUALS WHO OTHERWISE WOULD STRUGGLE OR BE UNABLE TO FIND A PLACE TO LIVE. THROUGH A SERIES OF CAREFULLY CURATED WORKSHOPS, NEIGHBORHOOD ORGANIZING, AND YOUTH ENGAGEMENT EFFORTS, THE INITIATIVE BROUGHT TOGETHER COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS TO BUILD TRUST, PROMOTE EMPATHY, AND REDEFINE PUBLIC SAFETY.
