What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The purpose of the Georgia Aircraft Modelers Association, Inc. (GAMA) is a fraternal organization and has been formed to foster and advance interest and fellowship of its members in the hobby of building and flying radio controlled and control-line aircraft, to encourage the study and discussion of problems and techniques involved with flying radio controlled and control line aircraft, to encourage and promote interest in this hobby in non-members, and to provide a meeting place and flying sites for members of the association. We are an Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) chartered club member and operate our club in accordance with the AMA policies and procedures (club #228).
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 We provide and maintain an excellent flying field (leased) for Radio Control and Control Line model airplane flying. We hosted the 2023 Southeastern Model Show this year. This annual event is our primary source of funding for our club and maintaining our flying field. We assist new modelers in learning to fly, hopefully without damage to their models. No members or officers are paid or receive any additional benefits (beyond what all club members receive) for their volunteer time or efforts. All funds collected are used for the above purposes.
