What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? WRGC holds one pipeline safety conference each year The event is held over two days at a local hotel and conference center The agenda includes all manner of pipeline safety-related topics and presentations Attendees include state pipeline safety Program Managers representatives from the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration gas contruction engineering compliance and management attendees from natural gas companies mainly on the west coast and approximately 150 vendor personnel who manage displays and presentations No one on the Board receives any compensation Funds pay for the hotel room rental food and beverage and audio visual expenses for the conference as well as printing advertising costs and costs for door prizes for the reception The overall intent is to help educate gas company operators and personnel on the state and federal pipeline safety regulations ongoing regulatory activity review of emergencies and incidents and review of new tech

Our organization receives no other income or donations, so the income is used to pay for the event each year and the surplus is used to defray other up front expenses for the next year, and so on. No Directors or officers receive any type of monetary compensation for organizing and executing the event. We pay one contractor to handle the registrations and related items and we provide her with a 1099. Other expenses include payment to the hotel for room rental, all food and beverages, reception costs, door prize gifts in which no compensation was received from attendees, travel expenses for Board members, and cost for annual meeting as required, website administration and improvement, and other misc. office expenses for the organization.
