We consider the average monthly balance of our checking account $1516 to be cash held for charitable activities. In addition we have a small certificate of deposit which we hold for covering shortfalls. We use these funds to pay rent for our rehearsal space in a church basement and for other incidental expenses which from time to time include purchasing music renting the post office box and paying nonprofit filing fees.
