Requesting reasonable cause abatement Normal business care and prudent was followed The fiscal yearend was 831 for all tax years prior to 2020 Tax year end for the year 2020 2021 and 2022 was 1231 We were unaware the IRS changed the yearend back to 831 for the 2023 tax year until after the tax returns due date We were not provided the opportunity by the IRS due to them withholding information on the change in tax year to file the form 990EZ on time forcing the return to be filed late We are requesting abatement of any late penalties for the form 990EZ with the yearend August 31 2023 for the reasonable cause listed above
