| Form 990, Part III, Line 4d | OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: the purpose of the Women Empower Grant was to support women in acquiring sewing skills and to be able to design and create clothing for themselves and their families. during 2020, the focus was to learn how to make masks due to the pandemic. women that graduated from the program, received a sewing machine to continue producing items created by them and get ready to start their own businesses selling the items they created, taking steps towards self-sufficiency. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: Maricopa Community Foundation Non Profit Assistance Grant - The program is to help Refugee Women, Youth to recover from the pandemic's continuing negative impact by establishing programs that lead them toward recovering and self-sufficiency, includes WEP, professional sewing, digital literacy, youth development and enrichment programs, preschool and other critically needed services, education and empowerment. The beauty of this program is that these Refugees are starting their own business producing dresses, pillowcases, quilts, and shirts that they have been able to sell to community members. After successfully completing the program, the women are provided with their own sewing machine, they become excited, and see this opportunity to start a Social Entrepreneurship or social-entrepreneurship business and bring an extra income to their homes. Refugees and Immigrants are the most impacted by the economic losses of the coronavirus pandemic; and the COVID-19 crisis affected all our lives,with refugees and immigrants the hardest hit. During the Pandemic's period, SAUC provided economic relief programs to the multiethnic refugees who qualified for rent and utility assistance through City of Phoenix, and provided other critically needed services for the Multiethnic refugee and under served community in Maricopa County.SAUC is committed to provide the best quality services to the multiethnic refugee community residing in Maricopa County; offering not only access to enriching and developmental activities, but also safe, positive, healthy andcaring environment. SAUC always strive to serve with kindness and humanity, and listen attentively to the need of the multi ethnic refugees and act upon those needs in a timely manner. To continuously increase the SAUCs employees capabilities for performing efficiently their duties we always plan, organize and conduct a professional on-job training and design proper staff development programs. SAUC feeltruly humbled and blessed, and would like to thank he Maricopa County leadership so very much, and everyone who are helping us in accomplishing our goals through the way, giving us the opportunity to work and collaborate together. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 7: International Rescue Committee SBA Navigator Pilot Program - Encouraging, recruiting and training the multiethnic refugee community for small business, assisting them also in the access of information and resources. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 8: Welcome Fund - Go Fund Me - Providing services and educational programs for Newcomer Afghans. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 9: OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 10: ASU Stem Pro Somali Family Grant - We are strongly and with confidence admit that the STEM program has enhanced the participants opportunities to become immensely powerful in a positive way and receptive to the new positive social change. This has resulted in a successful empowerment that is shown practically to have produced more effective and more productive citizens. The participants had lot of fun in learning the importance of STEM careers, which included Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 11: Program Development ADES 18-212371 that ended in September of 2023. In collaboration with the Refugee Resettlement Program (RRP) for Maricopa County, we supported over 600 multiethnic refugees in 2023. We welcomed 222 new refugees into our program during the 2022-2023 fiscal year. This program is primarily focused on educating and assisting refugees to integrate successfully into the United States. Many were enrolled in our Improved Method of Learning English class for Somali, Swahili, Arabic, Farsi, Dari, Amharic, etc; Naturalization Preparation class; Professional Sewing and Women Empowerment; and others. We helped over 100 refugees to become citizens of the United States in 2023. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 12: ASA Supplemental Services CTR063495. In collaboration with the RRP, we have provided various services to Afghan clients who arrived in the United States in and after 2021. We welcomed 211 new eligible Afghan clients to our program in 2023, but continued to support the many returning clients. We provided services such as housing assistance; case management; support services and interpretation; digital literacy; preschool and youth leadership; and women empowerment, including professional sewing and employment services. Many Afghans enrolled in our core education classes, including our English class. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 13: Immigration Services CTR067737. In collaboration with RRP and our immigration lawyer, including USCIS and other support lawyers, we have helped over 1000 Afghan clients with all of their immigration needs. Our case managers received training on all of the necessary USCIS forms and followed a strict process to check and recheck all forms before being mailed, including sending to our immigration lawyer who checks the forms and signs off and sends any needed corrections if any. We held a town hall meeting on January 26, 2024 featuring those Afghan clients who have benefitted from our immigration services in and before 2023. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 14: MCPHD - CHNA Surveys. In collaboration with the Maricopa County Public Health Department, we were able to administer 211 Community Health Needs Assessment Surveys to clients in Maricopa County. All case managers from our center participated in conducting the surveys both in paper form and electronically. |
