X 2 The Kingsport Area Chamber of Commerce, Inc. is a tax exempt, not-for-profit organization under Section 501c6 of the Internal Revenue Code. Unrelated busines income from the sale of magazine advertising in excess of 1,000 is not exempt from taxation. No provision for income taxes is required due to a net operating loss carryforward for unrelated business income losses. The Chamber believes that it has appropriate support for any tax positions taken, and as such, does not have any uncertain tax positions that qualify for either recognition or disclosure in the Chambers financial statements.
