Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b	The Board of Directors reviews the Organizations Form 990 each year prior to its release, directing questions and comments about the tax return to the preparer. Once the Form 990 is approved by the Board, it is forwarded to the President and Chief Executive Officer for his signature and subsequent release.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c	Conflict of Interest policy issues are addressed as needed by the Board members. Potential conflicts, if any, are considered by the Board and acted upon on a case by case basis when necessary. The policy is enforced by the Board President.
Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19	The Organizations governing documents, conflict of interest policy, financial statements, and Form 990 are available to the public upon request.
Form 990, Part III, Line 3	The Department and Bexar County Emergency Services District 3 entered into a merger agreement that is effective June 1, 2024. Employees, assets, and department activities were transferred over to ESD3 on June 1, 2024. The merger will alleviate some duplication of efforts and resources. The Department will keep its non-profit status after the merger in order to administer a future scholarship program for firefighters families, perform administrative work, and payoff the Departments debts with funds provided by the ESD 3.
