	The most significant accomplishment for the California Nurse Midwives Association has been public education regarding the importance of increasing access to midwifery care for womens health. Nurse-midwifery care has been shown to decrease the rate of cesarean births, decreaase costs of care, increase rates of breastfeeding, and increase patient satisfaction.
