Summary of Direct Charitable Activities

1 Work with Living Soil Network to balance the soil in fields. This is the process where we are adding specially formulated compost both below and above ground to balance the fungal to bacterial ratio. 5,617
2 Greenhouses. The greenhouse setup is a core component of regenerative farming in a northern climate. These require ongoing maintenance both of the physical structure, the irrigation setup, and plant management. 4,017
3 Animal Care. New sheep shelters (rotational grazing setup). For a proper rotational grazing setup each field requires a shelter to give the animals shade. 4,296
4 Ongoing regenerative farming practice. This includes working with the farm using organic and biodynamic means and a holistic perspective. Every season, the orchard and food-growing spaces require daily to weekly maintenance, depending on the cycle of the year. In the late winter, seeds are started indoors. In the spring, growing beds are cleared, prepared for planting,and then planted, either with seed or seedlings started earlier. In summer, theplants need to be tended, watered, weeded, harvested, and pruned. In late summer to fall the plants are harvested, garden spaces are again cleared and cleaned of excess plant matter, and weed cover or a cover crop is planted forthe winter. In addition, biodynamic preparations are given to the growing spaces and orchard a few times a year. 13,793
