| Form 990, Part III, Line 4d | OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: offthegridPAKISTAN: OTG continued to provide critical support to DHHDBDD communities in Pakistan following catastrophic flooding that devastated entire regions and displaced countless families. Navigating challenging terrain and civil unrest, OTG reached DHHDBDD individuals often excluded from mainstream relief efforts, including Deaf families living together in isolated villages cut off from support and suffering amidst an ongoing humanitarian crisis. OTG commissioned colorful, well-constructed handmade beds to provide for Deaf families who lost everything, restoring dignity and comfort to those in need. Among those helped were elders who are DeafDisabled, many of whom had no choice but to sit and sleep on concrete before receiving this aid. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 7: Emergency Preparedness: Recognizing that DHHDBDD individuals are often excluded from evacuation planning and traditional response efforts, OTG helped mitigate the risks associated with power loss, communication breakdowns, and systemic neglect during emergencies. OTG conducted evacuations by transporting DHHDBDD families out of danger zones, advocated for accessible emergency information and inclusive strategies, and, through the distribution of solar-powered lights with mobile chargers, and emergency communication methods, techniques, and toolsensured that DHHDBDD individuals remained connected, informed, and safe during crises. By working with local partners, OTG ensured that DHHDBDD individuals were included in crisis preparedness and response efforts, which involved building reliable networks and equipping DHHDBDD communities with critical survival tools. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 8: offthegridUKRAINE: OTG continued to provide essential aid to DHHDBDD communities in Ukraine through pre-established hubs set up in 2021. These hubs served as critical lifelines for Deaf individuals navigating the ongoing challenges of war. OTG distributed solar-powered lights with mobile chargers, ensuring that impacted communities could maintain communication and safety during frequent blackouts and other emergency conditions. By addressing the unique needs of DHH individuals, OTG's efforts helped sustain resilience and connectivity amidst the ongoing crisis. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 9: offthegridTURKIYE: OTG launched a two-part mission in response to the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, overcoming distinct regional landscapes and political challenges to deliver life-saving aid. OTG strategically created safe routes with a network of teams to reach earthquake-hit areas, including homes, refugee camps, and shelters, supporting DHHDBDD survivors and their families. The teams provided essential items such as solar lights with mobile charging units, clothing, footwear, blankets, medical supplies, and clean water filtration systems, addressing critical accessibility gaps. This vital response ensured that DHHDBDD communities received the resources needed to navigate the aftermath of the earthquakes and ongoing aftershocks, while also addressing the challenges of living in refugee camps and other vulnerable conditions. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 10: offthegridMAUI: Following the deadly wildfire in Lahaina, OTG launched a four-part mission to support Hawaiis DHHDBDD Community. OTG established an Emergency Hub to address the lack of accessible information, providing real-time updates on shelter and aid distribution, including hot meals, free breast milk, hygiene care, hearing aid batteries, and Deaf-led mental health resources. OTG also hosted disaster preparedness and response workshops for DHHDBDD leaders, focusing on sustainable relief and maximizing limited aid to support their communities in Hawaiis isolated regions. Essential resources, including solar lights with USB chargers, battery packs for Deaf-led teams, clean water filtration systems, and reusable period pads, were delivered to areas in need. Additionally, OTG positioned sustainable relief supplies, such as solar lights and water filtration systems, in Honolulu to prepare for future disasters and address critical accessibility gaps across Hawaii as needed. |
