Explanation:

SCOW is an all-volunteer organization, with all roles unpaid, including the Treasurer who is responsible for this filing. In March 2023, his second grandchild was born and he and his wife undertook significant child care responsibilities with respect to this child and her brother, 2.5 years older. Given the demands this placed on time and effort, the filing requirement was overlooked until notice of the delay was received from the IRS. At that point, given that our PO Box address is checked only at somewhat irregular intervals the notice was not addressed for some time thereafter.
