Part III-Statement of Program Service Accomplishments-Oregon Business Alliance for Climate is Oregons only statewide business organization focused on addressing climate change. Accomplishements in the last year include:Organized businesses to join in supporting passage of several critical bills, new programs, and strong agency budgets to continue climate progress and to maximize Oregons success with recent federal funding. Projects included:Business sign-on letters to legislators to support a strong budget and to include investments that would help leverage federal programs, and to push for final passage of a package of bills making these investments and establishing critical policies on clean buildings, fleet electrification incentives, carbon sequestration, and others. Hosting opportunities for business leaders to meet with key policy makers.Testified in committee meetings and met with legislators to bring the pro-climate business voice to support key policies. Supported Oregons Climate Protection Plan in commission hearings and other venues.Launched the first cohort of a program to help businesses address their own emissions-the Breaking Barriers Collaborative, in partnership with other leading NW business, climate and justice groups.Kicked off our business preparation for the 2023 legislative session, providing a preview and legislator roundtable covering the major climate policies expected in the session.Spurred the process to ensure Oregon secures a strong share of the huge Federal IRA funding, including from the $27B Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund that will dramatically expand clean energy investment and deployment, especially for businesses serving impacted communities. |
