Explanation:

We are a relatively new organization of Para-educators who work with severe cognitively impaired individuals from ages 3 years old to 26 years old. We formed this union to help our members in negotiations. On September 14, 2023, I personally spoke to an IRS agent with the EO unit's legal department. She indicated to me we should wait to file Form 990 until we receive recognition as a tax-exempt organization, so that is what we did. Now that we know our filing obligations, we fully intend to be in compliance going forward. We hope you will find reasonable cause exists for our late filing.
