EMERGENCY SHELTER PROGRAM: IN 2023, THE ORGANIZATION EXPERIENCED A 21% INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE SERVED. THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS HAS INCREASED BY APPROXIMATELY 9% IN THE METRO RICHMOND AREA. MOMENTS OF HOPE PROVIDED 273 INDIVIDUALS HOTEL STAYS (747 NIGHTS). SUCH NEEDS CONTINUE TO OUTPACE AVAILABLE RESOURCES. WEEKLY OUTDOOR COMMUNITY OUTREACH EVENTS: OUR SATURDAY SERVINGS ARE FREE EVENTS THAT PROVIDE A HOPE AND PRAYER, HEALTHY LUNCHES, HEALTH SCREENINGS, CLOTHING, BIKE REPAIRS, AND ASSISTANCE WITH MEDICAID, SNAP, AND REPLACEMENT PHOTO IDS. FOR MANY OF OUR GUESTS, THESE EVENTS PROVIDE A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO SOCIALIZE AND FELLOWSHIP, AS MANY ARE SENIORS, DISABLED, AND SHUT-INS. THE HOT MEALS WE PROVIDE ARE PREPARED AND SERVED BY GROUPS FROM DOZENS OF OUR INCREDIBLE PARTNER CHURCHES AND LOCAL BUSINESSES. SATURDAY SERVINGS: SINCE 2015, WE HAVE HOSTED WEEKLY OUTDOOR COMMUNITY OUTREACH EVENTS IN THE BROOKHILL AZALEA SHOPPING CENTER PARKING LOT IN RICHMOND. THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WE SERVE ON SATURDAYS HAS EXCEEDED PRE-PANDEMIC LEVELS AND CONTINUES TO CLIMB (535 INDIVIDUALS PER WEEK). MOBILE PANTRY: THROUGH OUR VALUED PARTNERSHIP WITH FEEDMORE AND THE SUPPORT OF MANY CHURCHES, LOCAL BUSINESSES, AND INDIVIDUAL DONORS, OUR MOBILE PANTRY PROVIDES EACH HOUSEHOLD ENOUGH GROCERIES TO PREPARE SIX MEALS. OUR GUEST TALLIES CONTINUE TO CLIMB DUE TO CURRENT ECONOMIC CONDITIONS AND WE CURRENTLY SERVE AN AVERAGE OF 400 STRUGGLING NEIGHBORS EACH SATURDAY, RAIN OR SHINE. MO HOPE PANTRY: OUR FOOD PANTRY IS LOCATED NEAR THE HANOVER COUNTY COURTHOUSE AND PROVIDES ENOUGH GROCERIES TO PREPARE SIX MEALS TO 394 NEIGHBORS EACH WEEK. OUR STAFF ASSISTS WITH APPLICATIONS FOR BENEFITS SUCH AS MEDICAID AND SNAP. IN 2023, WE DISTRIBUTED CANNED FOODS, DRY GOODS, FRESH FRUIT & VEGETABLES, AND FROZEN MEAT TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN NEED. OUR PANTRY OPERATION REGULARLY SUPPORTS APPROXIMATELY 20 (SEE BELOW) AREA FOOD MINISTRIES AND PANTRIES WITH SURPLUS BULK FOOD WE RECEIVE FREE FROM FEEDMORE AND OTHER SOURCES. IN 2023, THE PANTRY SERVED A TOTAL OF 20,344 GUESTS RECEIVING 9 MEALS EACH FOR A TOTAL OF 183,096 MEALS. CHRISTIAN VILLAGE IS A LOW INCOME APARTMENT COMPLEX IN HANOVER, VIRGINIA. TWENTY-SIX (26) GUESTS RECEIVE 6 MEALS A WEEK FOR A TOTAL OF 8,112 MEALS AT THIS LOCATION. IN SEPTEMBER OF 2023, WE ADDED THE EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (TEFAP) PROGRAM TO THE FOOD PANTRY ADMINISTERED THRU FEEDMORE.
