FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2023, THE ESTIMATED COST OF PROVIDING CHARITY CARE AND FOR SERVICES THAT WERE BAD DEBTS WAS $17,172 AND $58,938 RESPECTIVELY. 2. MEDICAID SHORTFALL IN PAYMENTS - NHCH PROVIDES INPATIENT AND OUTPATIENT SERVICES TO MEDICAID PATIENTS IN THE STATE OF HAWAII. NHCH INCURRED COSTS IN EXCESS OF REIMBURSEMENT OF APPROXIMATELY $7,561,733 DURING THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2023. 3. MEDICARE SHORTFALL IN PAYMENTS - NHCH PROVIDES INPATIENT AND OUTPATIENT SERVICES TO MEDICARE PATIENTS IN THE STATE OF HAWAII. NHCH INCURRED COSTS IN EXCESS OF REIMBURSEMENT BASED ON MEDICARE COST REPORTS OF APPROXIMATELY $2,787,470 DURING THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2023. CONSISTENT WITH COST REPORT REQUIREMENTS, THERE ARE AMOUNTS THAT ARE EXCLUDED FROM THE COSTS ABOVE. 4. COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS - NHCH PROVIDES MEDICAL NUTRITION THERAPY FREE OF CHARGE TO ANYONE ON THE BIG ISLAND.
