Please waive any and all late penalties due to the fact that I used the wrong EIN on the extension, and the submission in June submission. I have used this for all our 1099, and I assumed our 990 since I became treasurer, the 990 have been correctly filed, IRS employee Mr. Stillwell #1004624677 thought the correct EIN was used to have the previous treasurer's log in information. However the typed computer file I referenced from her has another EIN, and that is what I used on the form 8868. In October our audit for the fiscal year Sept 1 2022- Aug 31, 2023 was completed and presented to our membership. In December I found out that I needed to file a 990 ez rather than the 990, and I filed an 8868 extension with the (unknown) wrong EIN. Due to this the extension that I thought gave me until Jul 15, 2024 was in fact never granted to our organization. I found out when I submitted the 990ez completed in June that in fact there was no extension on file, and if indeed it had been that the 990 was in fact due June 15, not July 15th. Lori Carlson Education Minnesota Grand Rapids Bigfork Local 1314 Treasurer ______ EXTRA Audits for EdMN must be done 6 months after the fiscal year, never was I told that our fiscal year was different. 990 due Feb 15 every year (I now know but really should have been January due to July ending) When I found out I needed to complete a 990 ez, I learned the fiscal year is Aug 1 - July 31 not Sept 1 to Aug 31 like the previous treasurer has submitted. Filed an extension when I found out that I needed to complete a 990 ez due to our Organizing for settlement grant that raised us over the 50,000 threshold. I have submitted the 1099 for years using an EIN, when I shifted over to the 990 EZ, I used the EIN I have used with that which I now know is incorrect.

v1.00
Explanation:
I have filed an extension. This is the first year we had to file a 990 EZ rather than a 990, I was not prepared to file on time due to this change. This was much more extensive and a switch from manual tracking to quickbooks tracking was a determent to timeliness.
