| Other | The Home for Orphans of Odd Fellows of Pennsylvania, in line with an updated and approved Mission Statement, focused its efforts on supporting childrens literacy programs in public institutions in areas within the Homes geographic area. Support was used by these institutions (Public Libraries and YWCA facilities) to support STEM activities through the use of computers, software and programs. Programs were supplemented by the provision of traveling science shows provided by the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. This support centered in two economically depressed areas of Southeast Pennsylvania, effecting hundreds of local pre-teen and teenage children. Further support to the Franklin Institute established a hands on learning experience in their Educational Science Lab. The Educational Science Lab allows children to develop solutions to posed problems similar to real life situations. |
