| General explanation attachment | Our association was dissolved on April 30, 2023. Due to the close of the entity, we filed a short-year return for the period January 1 - April 30, 2023. Since we had previously e-filed our 2022 calendar year return, we mailed a copy of the short-year return to your office in August 2023. The tax software didnt allow two returns to be e-filed for the same year. After mailing the April 30, 2023 return, we received a notice stating the returns for tax-exempt organizations are required to be electronically filed. We spoke with three individuals with the IRS requesting guidance on how to proceed. The last agent suggested mailing the return again, with an explanation. That copy was mailed on December 1, 2023. We then received a letter from the IRS suggesting we attempt to e-file the return again using the next year tax software. This is that return. |
