    Advocacy Without Borders received notification in late April 2022 that we had been granted retroactive exempt status. Both the 2012 and 2022 tax deadlines had passed before we learned of this approval that was backdated to February 2021. While we are grateful it also creates a challenge for us because we now must file for that past period. We are an organization by and for people with disabilities and we are very small and still learning. Please do not penalize us. We did go to a local tax assistance office to have an extension filed for our 2023 taxes and we will complete those before October 2024. Thank you.
