What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? Daughters of Norway is composed of a Grand Lodge and 31 subordinate lodges. The goals of the organization include: To unite into a sisterhood, women who wish to preserve Norwegian heritage. To maintain among members a knowledge of the history, culture, and language of Norway. To build a strong support system and bond of friendship within the sisterhood.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 First goal: Support and promote the preservation of our Scandinavian heritage by providing information to the public and members through our website; publishing a bi-monthly newsletter communicating to our 1700+ members, the monthly activities of all lodges; compiling books on traditional Scandinavian folk music and recipes; and imparting knowledge and information at various Scandinavian festivals across the country.

29 Second Goal: Scholarships. The Grand Lodge Daughters of Norway offers scholarships to full-time college, university, technical or vocational students who are either a member of or related to a member of the Daughters of Norway. Six scholarships were awarded in the current fiscal year.

Support system: Semi-annually, Grand Lodge meetings are hosted by lodges across the country to conduct business and promote the dissemination of information to and from the local lodges.
