	Organizing/GOTVIn 2023, we increased our focus and efforts on towards 365 year round organizing in an effort to increase Black voter turnout in targeted areas, regardless of how the maps were redrawn as a result of the redistricting efforts. Our on the ground efforts and infrastructure laid during the midterms meant that we could spend less critical time building relationships and laying foundation but can instead utilize our resources to fortify and expand our programming to increase engagement and turnout. We are aligning our resources with strategy to grow Black political power by: Growing Membership: expand our County and Regional Leadership structures by enhancing our regular programming with county tables and regional sessions. Communicating with a local lens: narrow policy and issue communication to engage local voters through county and regional structures, developing local narratives around issues to aid programmatic offerings, with an emphasis in rural counties. Year round organizing: maintain our local physical presence in communities in 2023 and beyond by extending and expanding our Regional Organizing Harbors into new strategic counties, providing a pathway to consistent year-round physical presence across the state in community. Expanding volunteer base: increase the volunteer base by creating pathways of engagement through engaging local/state issues, engage neighborhoods and voters with sporadic voting history and holding regular events to engage the community. Targeting Voter Engagement: Expand our engagement with specific voter universes (ie. Black Men, Game Changers, Black Persuasion) to invite them to our many pathways of engagement.

	Issue Based Advocacy / Other Primary Purpose ProgrammingAnother way of fulfilling our primary purpose as an organization is toassist black residents across North Carolina by connecting issues intheir community to the political process. In 2023 Advance Carolinaproduced several programs to help residents understand the politicalcontext and elected offices that impact their everyday lives. In 2023the issues of Environmental Racism, Healthcare, Homelessness, Education,Criminal Justice are researched and responded to by our organization. This hosts one of our signature programs.

	The North Carolina Black and Brown Policy Network (BBPN) was formed to address the need for change and equality for directly impacted people crying out for justice in the face of a COVID-19 global pandemic. Today, our network speaks out in solidarity against a created construct of racism in all of its forms and its deadly consequences. As a network, we stand in alignment with all Black and Brown-led groups and organizations.
