Summary of Direct Charitable Activities
List the foundation’s four largest direct charitable activities during the tax year. Include relevant statistical information such as the number of organizations and other beneficiaries served, conferences convened, research papers produced, etc. Expenses
1 Old fire hall - The Society owns a former fire hall which houses the Societys offices and its photo and archival collections on the first floor. The two large rooms on the second floor are the site of most of the Societys programs and exhibits. Ongoing expenses include utilities insurance supplies and maintenance. 15,956
2 Preservation - The Societys operations manager and volunteers maintain and preserve an extensive collection of documents photographs and artifacts. The Society also provides support for the restoration of a 1920 steam locomotive. 14,770
3 Exhibits and programs - The Societys operations manager prepares historical exhibits and programs for the general public and for elementary school classes. She also maintains the Societys website and Facebook page and creates the Societys newsletters. 14,175
