Plese consider removing or abating all penalties and interest related to the 2021 IRS Form 990EZ for the following reasons. During the new Treasurers review of the Associations records, and with the assistance of a retired Accountant volunteer in the community, it came to our attention that the required annual filings were not completed for the years 2020, 2021 and 2022. Subsequently, the IRS was notified by the Association President, June Thurman, and the 2022 form 990N was properly filed with IRS assistance. Thereafter, the 2020 form 990EZ was filed recently. The 2021 records were required to be completely recreated with the use of bank statements and other documentation. This filing is the result of that process. The previous Treasurer during the 2021 period, in her 70s, was in the process of adopting her young grandson from Child Protective Services, due to drug issues from her daughter. due to the combination of stress from her family and not understanding her role as Treasurer, the filings were not timely completed and filed. The Directors were also not aware of this situation until last year. Since then, all required filings have now been addressed and this Association is committed to process all IRS required filings going forward. Thank you for your considertion in this matter.
