Return Reference Explanation
Form 990, Part X, Line 2: Global Impact is exempt from Federal income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and exempt from state income taxes under state law. Global Impact is designated as a public charity. Global Impact is taxed on unrelated business income and has unrelated business income from advisory services and income from Geneva Global, Geneva Global is classified as an S Corporation for U.S. Income tax purposes. As such, income from Geneva Global, Inc. is passed through to Global Impact and is subject to unrelated business income tax. U.S. GAAP requires management to evaluate tax positions taken by the Organization and recognize a tax liability (or asset) if the Organization has taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by the Internal Revenue Service. Management has analyzed the tax positions taken by the Organization, and has concluded that as of June 30, 2023 and 2022, there are no uncertain positions taken or expected to be taken that would be require recognition of a liability (or asset) or disclosure in the consolidated financial statements. The Organization had no unrecognized benefits at June 30, 2023 and 2022 has incurred no interest or penalties related to income taxes for the period presented in the consolidated financial statements.
