| Form 990, Part III, line 2 | The Kansas Hospital Association, on behalf of its member hospitals, undertook a new program related to the distribution of State of Kansas Medicaid funding. Kansas statute established that certain Kansas hospitals are assessed a tax based upon various criteria including their inpatient revenue. This is called the Health Care Access Improvement Program (HCAIP). The tax is due twice per year. Beginning in July 2022, this same statute provided a method to distribute additional Medicaid funding to hospitals on a quarterly basis. These payments are proportional to the Medicaid services their perform for Kansans. KHA incurs staff and consultant costs to assist the state (KDHE) in meeting the needs of the HCAIP program. |
