1 THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR UNDERPRIVILEGED HOUSEHOLDS IN THE GREATER BALTIMORE REGION. THIS INCLUDES EDUCATIONAL TUITION ASSISTANCE, EQUESTRIAN LESSONS, WOODSHOP AND CRAFT ACTIVITIES AND A SUMMER DAY CAMP ON MARYLAND'S EASTERN SHORE. DURING 2023, 4 CHILDREN RECEIVED TUITION ASSISTANCE. ADDITIONALLY, 525 COATS WERE PURCHASED FOR LOW-INCOME CHILDREN AND 1,400 EQUESTRIAN RIDING AND GROOMING LESSONS WERE PROVIDED TO APPROXIMATELY 170 CHILDREN. WOODSHOP AND CRAFTS HAD ABOUT 42 LESSONS OVER THE YEAR PROVIDING LESSOPNS TO ABOUT 12 TO 16 CHILDREN. APPROXIMATELY 60 CHILDREN PARTICIPATED IN THE SUMMER DAY CAMP. 1,113,614
2 THE FOUNDATION PROVIDED TWO LOW-INCOME DISABLED PERSONS WITH ASSISTANCE. THE ASSISTANCE WAS STRUCTURE BASED ON THEIR NEEDS. ALL THESE FUNDS WERE USED TO ALLEVIATE SOME OF THE DISABLED PERSONS FROM THEIR BURDENS. 7,850
3 THE FOUNDATION'S DISASTER AID PROGRAM PROVIDED 11 FAMILIES WITH EMERGENCY FUNDING. THE PROGRAM PROVIDED FUNDS FOR RENT ASSISTANCE AND GIFT CARDS FOR GROCERY STORES AS WELL AS OTHER NEEDS SINCE MANY LOW-INCOME PEOPLE EITHER LOST THEIR JOBS OR HAD A REDUCTION IN INCOME OR DEALING WITH A MEDICAL EMERGENCY. ONE COMPANY RENTS THE USE OF THE STABLES, RIDING PATHS AND RIDING RINK AND PROVIDES BOARDING, GROOMING, AND RIDING SERVICES AND LESSONS TO THIRD PARTIES. THIS PROVIDES THE FOUNDATION WITH HORSES TO UTILIZE IN ITS EQUESTRIAN ACTIVITIES AND THE RENT INCOME IS THE PRIMARY FINDRAISER THAT DIRECTLY OFFSETS COSTS OF OWNING AND OPERATING THE FARM. THE SECOND TENANT IS A FARMING CONCERN RENTING ACRAGE FOR PLANTING OF CROPS. THIS RENTAL AGREEMENT ALSO ASSISTS THE FOUNDATION IN BRINGING SOME UPKEEP TO THE GROUNDS AND THE INCOME GENERATED IS USED TO REDUCE THE FOUNDATION'S FARM OPERATINGS COSTS.
