March 15 2024 Internal Revenue Service Attn: EO Accounts Units M S 6552 Odgen UT 84201 RE: Tax ID number 23-7171766 Form: 990-EZ Tax Period: Apr 30 2023 I am requesting on behalf of Links Inc aka Tacoma Chapter of the Links Inc of Tacoma Washington. That our chapter is not charged with penalties for late filing. In good faith my 1st attempt to e-file our 990-EZ form electronically on time was 9 15 23. It was unsuccessful as I couldn't get the application to work. It would not process. Therefore it was suggested that I mail the paper forms to Internal Revenue Service. I did so. We are a small volunteer organization with a post office box that is not checked on a regular basis with great lapse in between. Our chapter received a letter in December 2023 informing us our Form 990-EZ cannot be processed without all required information. I called to inquire about our return. Was told that we needed to eFile our 990EZ form. On December 28 2023 I eFiled our chapter's 990EZ. On January 20 2024 received an email from the IRS rejecting our filing. Called March 15 2024 to inquire about rejection. I was informed that our rejection was being submitted to an Analysis. Received call back today March 15 2024 from an analysis who informed to re-submit our chapter's 990EZ due to technical issues IRS was having in January 2024. Our chapter is part of a large national organization 5013 with 299 chapters who must file independently. I resubmitted our 990-EZ online today.
