Part III response or note to any other line in Part III The purpose of the society is to bring into one federated organization the physicians of New Hanover and Pender Counties so that they may make effective the opinions of the profession in all scientific, legislative, public health, and socioeconomic matters; to join with other county medical societies to form the North Carolina Medical Society; and through the State Society, to form the American Medical Association(AMA). 05. Part III, response or note to line 28Established in 1867, New Hanover-Pender County Medical Society has been a 501 (c)(6), nonprofit physician association since 1991. Along with the NC Medical Society and the American Medical Association, it is part of the Federation of Medicine. Membership in a medical society is the first step to association with thousands of physicians who care deeply about the integrity of medicine. Membership in the New Hanover-Pender County Medical Society offers opportunities to fortify the strength and camaraderie of the medical community and provide valuable services to our fellow citizens. In 2023, 219 students were provided with annual athletic physical screenings, and the organization and individuals contributed to the Societys endowed Premedical Scholarship at University of North Carolina-Wilmington.
