| Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 29 | Youth Sunday Program - There is a call to go into the world to reach young people. Our Sunday School Youth Program meets on the third Sunday of each month. It plays a crucial role in the spiritual, educational, and moral development of our children. It offers a rich and valuable learning experience with an age-appropriate curriculum and engaging activities. The Sunday School Program provides a structured environment for our youth to deepen their understanding of the Bible, develop their faith, and grow spiritually. They get to participate in various activities like games, crafts, and storytelling, which make learning enjoyable and memorable. The benefits of our Youth Program are fostering a sense of community amongst the children, encouraging them to support one another teaching important values like love, kindness, honesty, and respect and appreciate and use the Bible learning that church is a fun, safe place connecting with other Christian children and instilling a sense of responsibility and service. The lessons learned in Sunday school guide the children in their daily lives, helping them make moral and ethical decisions, as evidenced by four children being baptized. It is a demonstration of their faith, understanding, and commitment to God. Moreover, two more are preparing themselves for baptism as they enrich their Christian education. Investing in the next generation is important for passing on faith, knowledge, understanding and enriching the reign of God and Gods love. |
| Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 30 | Music Ministry - The purpose of the Music Ministry at Destiny Baptist Church is to exhort, uplift, and encourage the body of Christ through song and worship. God has given us the responsibility and the privilege of proclaiming His righteousness with our mouth and hands and through music. When the church gathers for worship we engage with God through singing, clapping, bowing, lifting hands, and other biblical actions, led by our choir, the Voices of Destiny. Music is a key component in our praise and worship portion of the service on Sunday mornings. The role of music in worship is biblical. Hymn singing was practiced by Jesus and his disciples. The Psalms bear rich testimony that in joy and sorrow, in praise and lament, the faithful raise their voices in song to God. Music connects us at a deeply emotional level. Music has the divinely designed ability to move and inspire. Worship music is all about God. However, worship music is not just limited to Sunday morning service. We engage our community as well. The music ministry successfully organizes special worship services, such as Old Time Gospel Celebration and Christmas celebrations under the direction of the Minister of Music. Our Minister of Music is a talented and experienced pianist, organist, keyboardist, song writer and vocalist. He often introduces new hymns and musical compositions. He trains and develops our choir members. The Music Ministry also hosts the Hernando County Federation of Choirs, an organization of churches located in Hernando County, Florida that provides a countywide platform for a group their choirs to participate, support, and engage in music and worship within the faith community. The Voices of Destiny choir is frequently requested for singing engagements as well. In these roles, music leads and builds up the church community. If you have a heart for the Lord, if you love music and feel as though the Lord has blessed you with musical abilities and understanding, using that gift and understanding for the benefit of others and for the praise and glory of the Lord, is not only biblical, but also foundational to the gospel. The people of God sing. |
