	Two Field Representatives collected milk weights and milk sample from each of 8,851 cows in 36 members herds, mostly on a monthly interval. Each milk sample was analyzed for butterfat and protein content, somatic cell counts, pregnancy verification, and mastitis species ID as members requested. The compiled data was presented to universities for research and sire proving purposes. Both uses of the information benefit dairy producers worldwide. The 36 Winona Co. DHIA members used the analyzed data for improved herd management.5,491 cows in 15 Winona Co. herds produced more that the state average of 24,730 pounds of milk, 1,057 pounds of butterfat, 800 pounds of milk protein, worth $5,025 per cow during 2024.
