We began holding security deposits for facility rentals separate from our general income, and recognized those amounts as liabilities rather than income. That way, security deposits are never recognized as income UNLESS the deposit is not returned because of damage, non-payment, etc. In prior years, we recorded security deposits as income, then recorded any returned deposits as negative income. At the end of 2024, we held $1,250 in our Facility Rental Deposit Liability account.
