What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? TSPE was founded in 1936 to serve the interests of the individual engineer in Texas across all branches of engineering. The local Bexar Chapter includes the San Antonio regional area and is a recognized voice and advocate of licensed Professional Engineers.

Explanation:
The late filing was due to a breakdown in internal communication and transition of leadership following the prolonged illness of the former Executive Director. Prior to her departure, she had assured the board that all required filings were completed. Unfortunately, we later discovered that these filings had not been submitted. The former Executive Director became seriously ill during the COVID-19 pandemic and, despite initial recovery, experienced ongoing health complications that ultimately limited her ability to resume her duties or provide a full handoff of information related to the association's operations. As a result, the organization was left without access to key records and account credentials, which created unforeseen delays in fulfilling administrative and compliance requirements. Upon identifying the lapse, the current leadership team took immediate steps to gather documentation, regain access, and complete the necessary filings as quickly as possible. We sincerely regret the delay and have implemented new internal protocols to prevent similar issues in the future.
