| General explanation attachment | NEW 2023 FILING-The organization never received a copy of its 990 for 2023 from the independent accountant that had prepared the return. Among several issues that the organization had experienced with this accountant (see the attached letter to the IRS on the late filing of the 2021 990), one was the lack of a response to requesting a copy of the 2023 990. Since some 2023 information is needed to complete the 2024 990 (on extension to 11/15/2025), the new accountant for the organization obtained a POA (attached) for 2023 as of 8/8/25. In contacting the Service, the new accountant was advised that a 990N was filed for 2023, and probably knowingly as a stopgap measure. Given these circumstances, it is requested that the IRS forego any penalties for the new 2023 990. |
