Briefly describe the organization’s mission: The Skin of Color Society is a professional dermatologic organization dedicated to promoting awareness of and excellence within the special interest area of dermatology, skin of color. Individuals with skin of color are defined by the Society as those individuals of Asian, Hispanic/Latino, African, Native American, Pacific Island descent, and mixtures thereof.

Part X, Line 2: The auditor determined there are no uncertain tax positions. The SOCS and SOCF have received determination letters from the Internal Revenue Service stating that they are exempt from federal income tax under sections 501(c)( 6) and 501(c)(3), respectively, of the Internal Revenue Code. In addition, when applicable, the SOCS and SOCF may be subject to an Unrelated Business Income Tax for income derived from any non exempt activity. Unrelated Business Income is defined as the gross income derived from any trade or business regularly conducted and not substantially related to the organization's exempt purpose or function. During the years ended December 31, 2024 and 2023, the SOCS and SOCF did not conduct any unrelated business activities. The SOCS and SOCF are subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress. The only tax years subject to tax examination are for those years within the statutory limits.
